The Heat Zone Map

The American Horticultural Society has published a “Heat Zone Map” of the United States. Analogous to the USDA Plant Climate Zone Map, it shows the average number of days per year the temperature is over 86 degrees (30 degrees Celsius).

Heat, like cold, limits where plants can grow. This map might be especially useful for gardeners in hot regions, where heat is a limiting factor.
